P-47 Thunderbolt "Little Chief"
Tamiya's 1/48 P-47 Thunderbolt build straight out of the box. I actually started this model sometime around 2001ish and had it about 95% complete around the time my daughter was born later that year. So for that and other real world reasons I was forced to take a break from the hobby. I picked the plane up last year, dusted her off, applied some light oil wash to add depth, and attached the final bits. The canopy and windscreen were masked the entire time but little to no residue remained on so that was a plus. Aircraft represents the plane flown by WWII ace Frank Klibbe. All the pics were taken in the last year. I posed her in the final pic with the P-47 in RAF markings that I posted here a few weeks back. Tamiya's P-47 are fun and easy to build straight from the box.

Very nice rendition! I like it here kits as well, and yours looks great!
Joe, that Thunderbolt looks excellent, especially along side the RAF 'bolt. Very tidy build, and congrats on making this ends meet and finishing this up.
Very nice painting OD over Neutral gray.
Beautiful build, Joe @mercenarymodels
Well worth to see it finally finished after such a long time.
Amazing result, Joe!
Looks great! She aged nicely with a nice finish.
Joe, that's an awesome looking Jug. Some great pics as well, two thumbs up.
My favorite Razorback scheme. I love models built like this with just a little weathering. It really shows the clean lines of the aircraft and showcases your abilities as a builder. Nice photography too. Even perfectly built models don't look very good without good photography.
OK, It just dawned on me that all of my favorite schemes for WW2 aircraft are from the Monogram 1/48th white boxes of my youth.
Lovely build, with that iconic Indian head scheme. Looks great!
Well, that certainly must hold a record for "aged in the box." Excellent result.
Fine looking Jug!
Nice!
This turned out very very nice. You’ve done an excellent job. I’ve only built the old Monogram Thunderbolts...
