1/72 Israeli F-15C 'Baz'
Israel took delivery of their first F-15's in 1976. The procurement of these new fighters was to replace their aging Mirage fleet. A number of Israeli aces were sent over to the US to test both the F-14 Tomcat and the F-15 Eagle. The conclusion was the F-15 was cheaper to buy, maintain and out performed the Tomcat in every area.
It wasn't until 27 June 1979 that the Baz got to show it's worth. With the F-15's bagging 4 air to air victories that day, one with each type of weapon. One by Cannon, one by Python 3, one by AIM-7F & one by AIM-9G. All four victims were MiG-21's
The Baz I have built here scored it's only air to air victory 10 June 1982 when Gil Rapaport shot down a MiG-23 with a Python 3.
This wasn't the best fitting kit around. Quite a few things didn't quite go together as planned but I still had fun and think it came out ok. Cant wait to give the GWH 1/48 scale Raam a go.
Attached are some pics of the model and actual aircraft.

Thanks Spiros, sometimes the stories are as enjoyable as the build!

Anything IAF gets my vote but this is brilliant work anyway and an interesting write up as well.

Cheers Neil! They've had some awesome planes with the stories to match. Got a few in my stash

Excellent result, Neill @neillroos
Maybe not the best kit around, but you got the best result out of it.

Thanks Grey. It was the Italeri F15C Eagle 1415. They sucked me in with the nice schemes
