Monogram B-52C

I built this kit in 1980 as a camouflaged Vietnam aircraft, then decided to re-paint as the C model included on the old microscale sheet about ten years ago. Well recently it lost a few wheels so decided to repair it, picked it up and crack! The fuselage seam opened! I was amazed that liquid poly repaired it, no problem. Sparce detail, but the wings go on much easier than the amt kit. If the modelcollect D becomes available I might go for it, after swapping out the seats. I'm fairly sure the tanks and wheels are wrong for a C, I may well put the camouflage back on!

  1. Looking great, Mervyn! Standing proudly after all these years!

  2. It’s looks great for its age ... I built one in the late 1970s. Wish I still had it. It is huge

  3. 42 years old and still looking good, Mervyn @frank1957

  4. An aged well BUFF, nice!

  5. Beautiful "salvage" job on an old classic. Looks fantastic.

  6. Now I'm retired I've got the time, I seem to be spending more time on repairs than new builds.

  7. Good for a “wrinkly” (English slang for a retired person), I’m one myself.

  8. Nice work, Mervyn. I built one of those in the early 80s too. In fact, I junked it a couple of years ago. It was complete, but needed rehabilitation. I actually considered restoring it like you did but in the end it didn’t make the cut. It was simply too big and old to make the move during our recent downsize.

  9. Nice save, it still looks great for a 42 year old build.

  10. That's a big monster - nicely done!

  11. Thanks Greg, still the best B 52 kit.
