1/48 Tamiya P-47 M
This kit sat in the storage closet for 15+ years I'm glad I finally got to it as it is a fabulous kit. The only aftermarket items used were Master gun blast tubes, Kits of the World 3D seatbelts and Superscale Decals. Polyscale and Vallejo paints used for upper colors and Vallejo Metal Colors for undersides. Model depicts the P-47 flown by Maj. Michael Jackson of the 62nd FS/56th FG.
Excellent model, Dale. I never get tired of Thunderbolts.
That’s a real beauty, Dale. Tamiya’s Thunderbolt line is best. Bet you enjoyed building it.
Definitely a beautiful result, Dale @dtravis
Chosen scheme looks really nice on it, so does the weathering.
That turned out very nicely, Dale, do you have any more hidden gems in your closet?
An excellent Jug, Dale!
Great idea to pull it out of storage and build it!
Very nice Jug.
Good looking thunderbolt.
Fantastic result on this Thunderbolt, really like the scheme you built on this one. Well done!
She looks great, Dale!
Thanks to all for the positive comments!
Definitely a nice result. Ive got one here. Thanks for the inspiration.
Like a nice Boudreaux wine...nicely aged and looks fantastic.
Great looking P-47, very nice work on the entire build!
I've always liked that grey/green scheme on the Jug. You did a great job with it - some nice weathering. Well done.
Dale, I don’t know how I missed this last year. It is an excellent build. I should have gone NMH with the underside of the earlier Teddy. And I think it is more difficult but more customary to put the flaps up on these kits. What is curious to me, and it is borne out by the photos of the actual aircraft, is the relatively hard edge of the camouflage. I did this as well, then wondered whether they were done without mats/ masking in “the field.”
@russjurco Thanks for your compliment!
