Hawker Sea Fury FB 11, WH 589, 115, 724 Sqn RAN, HMAS Albatross, Nowra NSW, 1962.
1/72 Special Hobby, I started working on this in 2007, off and on till finishing in early 2021.
This was one of two display aircraft, The other being WH 588, 114.
I modified a few things along the way, brass wire and tube for the prop', drilled the exhausts, replaced the kit engine with a Bristol Hercules as I couldn't find a Centaurus at the time, they are around now, maybe an engine change ! primed with MM 35042 with a coat of Xtracolor X 23 over it, Aussie Decals, Xtradecal X72260 and others on with Pledge.
Great looking model Allan. Really like the dark blue paint.
Thanks Haslam, it is nice.
Yet another amazing model, my friend Allan! Your usual extra work is evident, this Sea Fury looks wonderful! The Hercules engine looks great too, maybe an engine change would be puristically correct, but the Hercules is still acceptable.
Thanks Spiros, only a couple of cylinders short !
Great looking Sea Fury, Allan, that paintwork is especially eye-catching.
Thank you George.
Nicely done, Allan.
Thanks Gary.
Nice clean work, Allan. Love the scheme.
Thanks John, it's a bit different.
Very nice work and modification Allan. Looks super.
Thank you Bernard.
A great addition to your already impressive collection, Allan @kalamazoo
The excellent result gives it the impression to be a much bigger model.
Thank you John.
Those SH kits can be challenging - looks like you whipped this one into shape! The Aussies had a nice scheme for the Sea Fury.
Thanks Greg, they do need a little extra work.
Great job on your Aussie Sea Fury Allan. Looks great!
Thank you Michael, glad you like it.
Can’t rush quality Allan, impressive work on your Sea Fury.
Looks like it’s firing on all cylinders with the Herc engine.
Thanks George, just needs four more.
Fantastic work Allan. Lovely in this dark blue color. And...great to be back again and see your work. Cheers, Ferry.
Thanks Ferry, good to have you back.
Beautiful Aussie Sea Fury, Allan.
Thank you Eric.
A stunning build Alan. I love this scheme, may have to do one myself.
Thanks Robert, you should do so.
