Rhodesian Hawker Hunter

April 16, 2023 · in Aviation · · 10 · 546

Found this stalled project from 20+ years ago. As I'm taking care of my parents at the moment I decided to strip and repaint it. I'd obviously had difficulties with this one when I first made it. The problem was around the wing roots and intakes. Probably why the project stalled in the first place.
I'm going to mark this one up as one of the Hunters inherited by Zimbabwe from the RhAF.
Anyway, it makes for a nice little project until I can get home!

  1. Great save, Ian! Will look awesome in Zimbabwean markings!

  2. Thanks Guys. I'll post more as I get further along...

  3. Great decision and excellent choice, Ian @ianfoulk96
Well be an awesome looking Hunter.

  4. Looks to be a good recovery from the Shelf of Doom.

It seems all the Hunter kits have similar issues with the wing root/intakes. I had a bear of a time with the Academy 1/48 kit.

  5. Rhodesia had some of the coolest roundels ever. Cant go wrong with Spears or Lions

  6. Nice!

I'm planning on doing the same in future. Managed to get the decals so far.

    Great work there.
