1/72 Airfix Meteor F8

I've made quite a few of the new Airfix kits, mostly the 1/72 models, and this is the best one they've put out of those. Outstanding fit, very good detail, the best panel line size in this scale for Airfix, and great decals.

I did add seatbelt harnesses but otherwise it is straight from the box. The directions say to add 8 grams of weight under the cockpit but, I recommend an extra gram or two. Mine would tail-sit at the slightest bump of the table or incline. I squeezed in a couple of slivers of a fishing weight in the canopy and that has helped. Airfix went all in on stencil decals so if you like that kind of thing, you will love this kit. I eventually gave up on adding all the stencils on the bottom.

If I had a niggle with kit, it would be the landing gear. It was the one area where the fit was a little off. Perhaps it's the design, perhaps operator error. I know I'll have a chance to find out because I'm definitely going to do another!
