1/48 Vickers Wellington Mk Ic
Hello
The kit is from Trumpeter and the decals are from Techmod. The aircraft flew with 311(Czechoslovak) Squadron, England, March, 1941.
The kit is very nicely detailed, complete interior, unfortunately you can't see it at the end. The build wasn't too difficult, except for the 30 bomb bay doors which was tedious.
Thanks for watching
Martin
Super nice build! texture on the wings looks really cool. Bombay doors look like a pain! Finish and paintwork is excellent. Always nice to see something posted that we don't see very often. Well done
Thank you David.
Well done, 30 bomb bay doors? Ugh, yeah I bet that stretched your patience!
Thanks Rob
I can’t comment on the accuracy of the Trumpeter kit, Martin, but it looks great. I have a soft spot for Wellingtons, maybe it’s because I remember the original Airfix 1/72 kit released in the late 1950s, ah, those were the days.
Thanks George
I don't take the accuracy very seriously. It looks like a Wellington to me.
Looks like a nice model… you did a great job building it and painting it.
Thanks Jay.
The camouflage paint and overall finish look great.
An excellent result, Martin @matra
The amount of work on applying 30 bomb bay doors is indeed a lot. I build the 1/72 version of Trumpeter and the bay door was a closed one so I had to seperate each single door to create an open bay.
The paintwork looks amazing with some very nice shading.
Thanks John.
Excellent result, Martin!
Thanks Spiros.
Great job on your Wellington. I built that one a few years ago, one of my few Trumpy kits. I liked it.
Thanks Chas.
Nice work, Martin. I like the colors. What did you use for the DE/DG?
Thank you John
The colors are from Model Master Enamel.
Fine job on one of Trumpeter's best kits. Great work on the camo and decal application. Looks like the Techmod decals settled down nicely over the geodesic structure. I have one of these in my stash. Interesting that the cockpit is not so visible. It might be worth cutting out one of the side windows to have it slid back (as often seen in wartime pics. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any more pictures?
Thanks Colin.
The decals and masks were really good.
Very nice Wellington, Martin.
Excellent paint job too, which definitely deserves some more pictures.
very good looking Wellington! I hope I will show my Wellington in close future.
A very nice Wellington!
