It's not too late to solve that silvering on the upper wing crosses. Slice them up with a #11 blade, then flood with decal setting solution. That will get rid of the air (air under the decal is the cause of the silvering)Flood it till it really settles in, then let it set. Problem solved and you can't see any of the slices.
