Trumpeter 1/32 TBF-1C Avenger

February 15, 2024 · in Aviation · · 24 · 287

Avengers flying in the Atlantic Ocean were usually camouflaged in the white and grey that creates a good contrast on models.

This Atlantic was built using the excellent kit by . It is a design enlargement of the great 1/48th -1 although the surface texture is Trumpeter's. Nonetheless, it has a wing fold option that saves space and emphasizes the poise of the (aircraft) model. Yet, the momentum of backward swept folded wings strains the plastic of the tail unit and gear, not to mention that the wing folding mechanism has to be reinforced. A challenging model it is, but worthwhile the result.
