Grab bag of 1/48 P-51D’s

June 24, 2024 · in Uncategorized · · 5 · 190

Older builds of P-51D's I did.

First up, the copy of the kit. Decals from the F-51D . Don't remember what extras were used to spruce it up.

Next, a couple of Testors Authentiplate P-51D's. Markings for Eagleston's “Eagle” and Carr's “Angels Playmate”. Straight from the box, as I didn't want to ruin the chrome plating.

  1. All look really great, Brian!

  2. Nice Mustangs, Brian. That Testors/Hawk kit was amazingly accurate for its time.

  3. A very nice Mustang, Brian @bzak
    Well done.

  4. Nice group of Mustangs!

  5. NICE! The authetiplate as mentioned was originally a Hawk kit. Hawk really captured the outline of their subjects quite well for the time period. They did several plated aircraft. F-104, U-2, P-51, T-33 and I think their F-84 and F8F as well. I loved Hawk kits, them Monogram and Revell were affordable and looked great.
