Revell/Monogram 1/48 P-61 Black Widow

June 16, 2024 · in Aviation · · 30 · 412

A challenging oldie model that combines considerable amount of detail and the crude mold. Eduard exterior set helped to shift the balance from the crude plastic to the fine details.

  6. Yeah, that's a tough build! Well done!

  7. Looks familiar - I built that kit in that scheme sometime during the last ice age. You got the max out of that old beast - well done!

  8. That's a triumph of talent and stubbornness over plastic for sure.

  9. This is bugging me, where did you put the weight to keep the plane on all three?

  11. Great result on a difficult kit, Rafi.

  12. Excellent build - I especially like the weathering and treatment of the black monochromatic scheme - brought lots of life to it! Well done.

  13. Fine looking P-61, Rafi - nice job! I remember trying to build the same Monogram kit many, many years ago as a teenager; between impatience, my skill level, and Testors modelling glue I'm pretty sure I gave up. I remember it being a very difficult model.

  14. Fantastic result Rafi. Lovely work.

  15. Getting one done is an accomplishment!
