1/48 Tamiya MiG-15

September 18, 2024 · in Aviation · · 13 · 124

Had some problems with this kit, lost some parts (gun sight), broke some parts (antenna), decals disintegrated on me so I stole a few from a MiG-21 kit so this is a fictitious plane. I didn't want to do a NMF so I free handed the camo for a Polish . Made the best of it but still had fun. I think we need a new MiG-15 kit in 48th scale... come on Eduard! haha. Thanks for looking.

  1. Nice work on this, Jeremy. I’m surprised that kit hasn’t been reissued. I’d like another crack at it. Apparently, the much criticized sweep of the fin was wrong. Tamiya got it right according to people who’ve measured the real thing.

  2. Nice job! I like the paint chipping.

  3. Despite your challenges, it looks really good

  4. Great free handing of the camo. Looks nice.

  5. Eduard is in fact going to answer your plea, with both MiG-15 and MiG-15bis - upscales of the 1/72 kits. The question is when exactly this will happen.

  6. It’s a pity about the problems you had Jeremy, but the result is very nice. Great work on the camo.

  7. Excellent job, Jeremy! Nice what-if markings!

  8. This is a beautiful MiG, Jeremy @jmillan
The scheme turned out really nice as does the weathering.

  9. Nice work on the MIG Jeremy (@jmillan). And despite the fact that it's an older kit, you got it looking great. The MIG-15 and 17 are one of the few Russian aircraft I am interested in and I too am waiting for new releases on these (and a slight reduction in my current stash size). 🙂

  10. Jeremy, you still made a great looking MiG-15. The paint and overall finish really came out nice!

  11. Beautiful work - love the paintwork and weathering! Well done.
