Monogram 1/48 A-26C Invader "Jersey Bounce"

October 22, 2024 · in Aviation · · 18 · 222

1/48 A-26C "Jersey Bounce" 90th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group. Korea 1952

I started this ages ago after finding it for super cheap online with an Eduard interior set thrown in with the listing. Grad school, work, and family obligations made this project stretch out for months.

It fought me at every turn (paint issues, parts breaking off non-stop, some ghastly seams, and a months long search for the right decals at the right price) but I finally managed to push it over the finish line. The Eduard interior set really added alot to the interior. I modified the interior by removing the tractor seat that was molded to the floor and adding a folded seat from the ICM kit . I also used the gun pods from the ICM kit and added yellow napalm tanks courtesy of a Monogram p-38. I opened up the side door which looks cool but was a pain to do due to the thickness of the plastic. Overall I'm please with the result and really happy that I finally finished something that I can share with you all.

  1. This came out really well, David (@dbutlr). Old Revell and Monogram kits still have a lot of life to them, and you have given this one the TLC it needed create a real standout.

  5. Nice looking result on that build David. Even more impressive that you did a NMF on it (and I can attest to how much that kit fought you back as I have built one myself) - Cheers

  17. Wow. I like the repurposing of spares box pieces. I never knew they converted drop tanks into napalm tanks…which means I have a use for all the spare ones I have!
Really great job on the paint too- that looks perfect, especially the detailed cockpit buddy!
