Airfix 1:48 Avro Anson

March 28, 2025 · in Aviation · · 19 · 243

Here is an out of the box. Initially I was intimidated when looking through the instructions as to its complexity and parts count, but when I bit the bullet and began build it turned out to be a fun project. Fit was great and it went together pretty much without issue. Another shelf filler success! Love me some Airfix!

  3. She looks absolutely fabulous, Chris @champagnecrc. Love the paintwork, really need to get one too.

  4. Excellent looking Anson, Chris @champagnecrc
    Well done.

  5. An awesome Anson !

  6. Well done, Chris. Like the overall look.

  7. Very nicely done Chris. I wonder did the turret present a significant shift in the center of gravity. And from your photos, it looks like Airfix made it possible to partially retract it into the fuselage.

  8. Very nice build! Looks great.

  9. Great looking Anson, Chris. Weathered just right and all those window panes came out nicely. I'm sure it beats the heck out of the Classic Airframes Anson (which was actually one of their better efforts.).

A round of applause for Airfix.

  10. A fine looking Anson - looks better than my old CA Anson.

  11. Looks great! Some of these new Airfix kits look promising, like the Lysander that just came out.

  12. And it doesn't look like you had to slather on putty and filler to get to this really superb result.

  13. Nice looking build here Chris, I would agree with your comments as well. Airfix did a very good job with the instructions as well as the details. One of the best Airfix kit builds I have (almost) done. (Although I had some fit issues with the engine nacelles) - Cheers

  14. Nice work, Chris. I need to get on with mine. All of these new Airfix kits are always a great experience.

  15. VERY nice Avro, a real Eye Catcher. Just seems to have depth of color. Thumbs up.
