Franzis 1/2 scale BMW R90S engine

March 17, 2025 · in Uncategorized · · 18 · 168

A fairly simple kit, the kind an adult would build with a child as an educational device. I took it a few steps further. I painted almost everything even though most would be seen through the clear parts. I put light oil on all the moving parts.

I cut the motor and spark plug wire plugs off and ran the wiring inside instead of outside. The video is made of static photos of the progress with videos of it running at the end.

I have a Tamiya 1/6th bike of the R90S, thats next in line to build.

Photo also included is a “Lazy Susan” i found while cleaning the garage…I painted it black so I could “spin” the molde and photograph it. I was going to motorize it but that seemed like to much work so I used push pins and a string :). It worked well even if it was a bit jerky for the videos

Here is a YouTube video I made of the build, enjoy and feel free to to leave a comment 🙂
