AmTech 1/48 P-40E Warhawk
AmTech's model with ProModeler's Warhawk decals depicting an aircraft of 49th Flying Group, 9th FS flown by Andrew Reynolds in Darwin Australia during 1942. The aircraft was lost (with another pilot) after the completion of an aerial Gunnery mission flight. The pilot appeared to had lost control when he broke away from flight of three P-40Es to start a series of slow rolls, which resulted in the pilot stalling his aircraft at 6500 ft, which then entered an inverted spin which was not corrected in time. Aircraft impacted and cartwheeled in sea north of Magnetic Island, North Queensland.
Fantastic result, Rafi!
Thank you, Spiros!
That's one of the best jobs on an old Amtech I have ever seen. One thing about that kit, they got the shape of the nose area spot-on, and they always look great from the low/front. Oh and turn your canopy hood around. 😉
Thank you, Bill.
Thanks, for the heads up. Done!
Great job on this old kit and this is a sharp looking P-40!
Thank you, Bob!
Great P-40, Rafi. Always interesting to learn the background of the individual aircraft.
Thank you, John.
Excellent result on this Warhawk, Rafi @blackmopane
Well done.

Lovely Warhawk - those are some interesting markings for a P-40!
Thank you, Greg!
