Grumman F4F-4, "Wildcat"
This model, represents the aircraft flown by Lcdr James S. "Jimmy" Thatch, on the morning strike against the Japanese fleet. In the encounter, he is credited with shooting down two Mitsubishi A6M2, Model 21, Type 0, Carrier Fighters.
Later in the afternoon, he would be flying an F4F-4, with the number "1" on it's sides, when he shot down the B5N2, flown by Lt. Tomonaga of the Japanese carrier, IJN Hiryu.
Kit is the 1:32 scale Trumpeter.
