Work in progress: Belgian diorama – evacuating the wounded...
Happy New Year to everybody. I have not posted anything in a long time and this morning my good friend, Marc Barris called me and told me to get out of my modeling closet. So thinking about what he told me I decided to post one of my current projects.
It represents a time after the Normandy landings and before the winter of 1944 somewhere in Belgium. During a break in the fighting supplies are replenished. At the same time the opportunity is used to evacuate some wounded away from the front. A counter attack is expected soon as this piece of the front have been changing hands on a regular basis.
The story is still developing and thus there may be some changes made. I am doing some more figures and still have to add a huge amount of detail such as rubble, supplies etc. Since I am in no hurry and have other projects lined up I hope to do a progress report soon.
The main building is from Mini-Art. The Deuce and a half is from Tamiya as well the WSL 750, and most of the figures. I did some slight conversions and am adding more replicated equipment.
The cobble stone and pavement as well as the ruin to the left where the fuel and ammo is stored was scratch built using some Fimo clay and dentastone.
The Mini-Art building is actually a vacformed kit but I filled it with dentastone for stability and weight. I used mostly Tamiya acrylics with an airbrush for everything.
There is still a lot to do.
Hope you guys like it.
Cheers...
An ambitious project for sure, sir...looks like you've got a good start, though.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
I'll be watching for future updates. I'm not good at painting figures, but you definitely are. I like how you have built the vehicles too.
Thank you Louis. I try my best to get my figures lifelike. I appreciate the comments.
