Douglas TBD-1 Devastator 1/48 Monogram
This is my first Monogram and i very satisfited with this kit. Old but beautiful.
The Douglas TBD Devastator was an American torpedo bomber of the United States Navy, ordered in 1934, it first flew in 1935 and entered service in 1937. At that point, it was the most advanced aircraft flying for the Navy and possibly for any navy in the world. However, the fast pace of aircraft development quickly caught up with it, and by the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the TBD was already outdated. My plane is from VT-2 on U.S.S. Lexington shown in pre-war markings.

Long one of my favorites. There are some great shots of this aircraft in the movie "Dive Bomber." At the time, this was the Navy's most advanced torpedo bomber.
Nicely done, I am currently working on an original 1974 boxing. It is a great kit, I love Monogram kits.

Excellent job. I usually dont comment much but this old model brings back memories and good feelings. You did an outstanding job with a vintage kit despite its imperfections as a kit it still builds out well. Yours is one of the better jobs using this kit. I recall building these 1/48 Monograms and this one for instance, despite raised panel lines, was state of the art, far beyond what was available at the time regarding overall details and features. I have this vintage kit in my stash still in factory shrink-wrap with a K-Mart $5.00 price tag on it. Kills me to open it but really want to build it. Great job.
