Dakota forever
Thanks for letting me in to your society and I want to start my entree with a model in 1:48 scale of the most famous airplane of the world, the DC-3/C-47 Dakota .
The ancient Monogram Kit was used and the model has been built right out of the box, only a few
small antennas were added.
The finish for this bare metal airplane is simple kitchen foil, giving the model a very realistic look which a siver lacquer never can reach.
Hope you like my model. Comments are most welcome!
Love the colour and the metalwork Peter - great work.
Beautifully presented and great photos - Super!
Wow! That is beautifully done, and the staging of the photos is great too!
Excellent!
Beautiful! I honestly think the old Monogram kit is still the best boxing. You've got more options with it than the Trumpeter.
You are a master-modeler, Peter. Very special work on a very special airplane.
Welcome aboard! And nice job. I'll bet that bird really stands out on your shelf.
very nice work
Beautifully done! Welcome.
Welcome aboard, Peter! Nice to see you here. I´m looking forward to see more of your gems here soon. Peter, this flashing colors are so nice. Which bright red (dayglo ?) paint did you use?
Guys, Peter Doll is a known aviation photographer and a true modeling master of his trade. One of my all time favorites is his kitchen foiled CF-104 Starfighter.
Its always neat to make a splash when entering a room and what a splash of color this model is of the DC-3/C-47. There are several airlines that still fly the Gooney Bird and several companies have boughten the Basler Turbo conversions which are rebuilt DC-3s with turbo props. Peter could you be so kind as to post more pictures of your gifts and talents of this model? Some of us like to study and learn through the posts of other modelers. Like the back drop too.
Two thumbs up on this one.
"...like your model..."? - It's only probably the best build of that kit I've seen in quite a while (maybe ever). What a spectacular first post and presentation - well done, sir - and welcome to iModeler.
Welcome aboard Peter! What a wonderful Dakota. The colour scheme and the NMF finish are superb
superb and exciting to the senses
My two word review: Looks real.
What a warm welcom which I never had expected. Thank you so much for the long list of comments and all are positive. Unbelievable !
I'm just preparing another article and I have to apologize for my poor english, especially when technical terms are needed.
Thanks again to all of you guys, you make me really happy !
Peter
Stunning! I only clamor for more photos! And welcome to the band of crazies...
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Lovely model and a very great use of aluminum foil Peter, welcome to this forum.
