Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk1
Model depicts an aircraft flown by the Finnish Air Force 2/Lentoliavue 26, Kilpasilta airfield, April 1943. The only mods necessary to convert to a Finnish Hurricane are a taller scratch aerial mast and a small first aid hatch added on the mid lower port fuselage. Paints are all from the Lifecolor range set which was done in conjunction with the Finnish Air Force Museum which i think speaks well for their color accuracy. Only aftermarket used was Finemolds seat belts and a Yahu control panel. Both items are excellent.
Beauty. How do you find the Finemolds belts, Dale? I see they are offering them in their soon to be released 1:48 Japanese captured B-339 Buffalo

Thanks for your complement George. I got mine on EBAY.
I could tell that this was one of yours right away, simply by looking at the feature photo. You really do some nice work Dale. @dtravis
You typically don't see too many Hurricanes painted in Finnish markings. It's almost like seeing a Soviet Spitfire... Rare, but they had them.
These new tool 1/48 Airfix Hurricanes are a great little kit. I had a lot of fun building mine.

Glad you like it Louis. I agree the Airfix Hurricanes are fine kits.
That's a fantastic build, a flawelessly executed camo and spot-on weathering, Dale! I love planes in Finnish markings and watching your Hurricane was a joy.
All the best!
Spiros, your comments are appreciated!
Nicely done Dale she looks good in Finnish paint. I like it.
Thanks much Tom.
Nice work, Dale.
Thanks John.
Very sharp. Well done!
Thank you Eric!
beautiful
Thanks Bob.
That's a lovely Hurricane! Well done.
Thanks much Greg.
Nice work as usual Dale. The Hurri looks good in that scheme.
Seems like every other source I read can't decide it those 12 airplanes had rag wings or metal wings. Seen (and done) both myself.
I agree on the wings. Seems they had both. The pictures I have of the plane I did seems to show them as the metal wing.
Nice looking Hurricane, looks great in this scheme.
Thanks Robert.
Great Work Dale!
David, thanks for the nice comment!
That’s an amazing looking build, really nice!
