A bit of nostalgia, brushes 144 [gross] ,disposable paint brush

May 11, 2021 · in Uncategorized · · 5 · 1.1K

When I started to paint my models as a kid using Pactra and Testors 1/4 ounce bottle paints, to help me out my Dad or my Mom gave me a box of 144 little brushes, the cool thing was that they were disposable, they lasted me several years everything from Revell's 1/72 P-40E , Palmer's 1964 Stingray to Ringo models Graf Spee. Thought they'd last forever, they didn't, but then I discovered spray paint. I found this lone survivor with some of my fathers modeling . I believe they were really brushes for nail polish bottles.

  1. Now that's some great memory, my friend @roofrat!
    Sparkles our memories, as well.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Memories of simpler times. I feel the same about how less complicated modeling was. Thanks for reminding us Robert.

  3. I remember pactra and testors 1/4 oz bottles - great memories!

  4. That's an awesome find and especially a wonderful memory, Robert! @roofrat

Like David, I remember those bottles of Testors & Pactra paints. Between my Dad and I, we emptied many of them.

  5. Hey there Robert. Those disposable brushes are still around and I use them all the time. In this case my wife got some eye medicine awhile ago and a box of 144 brushes came along with it. I ended up with most of them. Seems like a never ending supply. Plus, I just found an unopened bottle of Pactra enamel and it's still good.
