G.W.H. 1/48 F-15B "Baz" IDF
At some stage during their long service in the IDF, the F-15s showed heavy signs of weathering. I believe that now, the surviving airframes are immaculate if not almost entirely revised.
GWHs 1/48 model is very good and was also revised after discovering some inaccuracies in panel lines contours. in all, One needs to be an expert to distinguish between the versions. Which version is mine?
Very nice Rafi
Thank you George.
Awesome result and amazing weathering, Rafi! This should be the "Baz" version.
Thank you Spiros!
Added to my heading.
Absolutely gorgeous, Rafi @blackmopane
The painting and weathering is outstanding.
Thank you John!
Makes sense they'd be dirty - they got a lot of use back in the late 70s-early 80s, shooting down the Syrian Air Force.
Nice work as usual.
Thank you Tom.
My guess is that there was a period where the future of the old F-15s was not decided in view of the purchase of the F-15I, and only necessary maintenance was performed.
Nice job on your F-15, Rafi. I've never built a Great Wall Hobby model before, but the quality looks good and the engine nozzle details look better than the Tamiya F-15. Your weathering and panel line work look fantastic!
Thank you Joe.
It seems that this is the best kit of the F-15 for the scale.
Well done, Rafi!
Thank you Gary!
Excellent Eagle build, Rafi.
Thank you Dan!
Fantastic job ! GREAT !
Thank you Olivier!
Another stunner! Love the weathering - well done!
Thank you Greg!
Great Eagle, Rafi!
Thank you John!
That is truly outstanding Rafi! The weathering is gorgeous. It makes sense that during a time of conflict that "cosmetic" maintenance would jot be a high priority, and only mechanical and electrical maintenance would be top priority. It's always been that way during times of conflict, more often than not.
Thank you Clint!
In the past, Mid Easts conflicts were of short duration and would not affect the aircraft maintenance. Weathering was more related to the lack of funds in terms of aircraft out of shelters exposed to the elements or not given extensive overhauls.
Nice one, Rafi. @blackmopane
Thank you kindly, John.
(@blackmopane) Rafi that is awesome 🙂 Love it, looks amazing 🙂
Thank you Scott!
Great looking Baz @blackmopane I'm loving the IDF builds you have been posting. I too have this one in my stash and am trying to find an Ophir Recce Pod for her in Australia.
Thank you Neil.
