Roden Albatros D.III (OAW) 1/32
After reading Hemingways A farewell to arms I got inspired to build a WWI aircraft. I chose the Albatros and painted it in the Jasta-scheme. The first part of the build was really enjoyable, even more because of the Quinta Studio interior-kit. But after that the painting (my first airbrush-experience) and placement of the upper wing proved a bit harderโฆ
I finally made it and learned a lot. That's also a nice reward. ๐
Congratulations on a first WW1 plane! It looks great.
Thanks John!
This is an impressive result, Harm @hptiggelaar
Being your first WWI aircraft and airbrush experience, this is even more an outstanding result.
You are fully right, learning on the job is a reward by itself.
Thanks John. Youโre totally right. ๐๐ป
Congratulations Harm! This is a wonderful result, especially as it is your first WWI model and the first time you use an airbrush!
Thanks Spiros! ๐
All good. Are you going to make the "final climb" up Mount Everest and rig it?
I expected that question ๐. I will, but still have to find out how to do that in a proper way without damaging it too muchโฆ
You can get some stainless steel wire - make it easy.
There it is Tom @tcinla and Ian @firelockg. Hard to see, but I tried and the rigging has been done. Iโll keep practicing. ๐

Nothing wrong with that, well done.
Great looking Albatros, Harm @hptiggelaar, and a beautifully done cockpit too! ๐
Great looking Albatros Harm, great detail work and neat paint job. As Tom said the final hurdle, rigging?
Iโll try Ian. ๐
Your perseverance paid off, Harm. Well done. Can't wait to see the next one.
You picked a challenging scheme for a first airbrush run, but pulled it off! Well done. Expecting great things from you in the future! ๐
Thanks Greg, it really was challenging. But Iโm happy with the result. ๐
That is some realism. Very authentic
Well done - looks great!
Nailed it!
