1/48 Tamiya P-51B Mustang "Berlin Express"

Supporting force for the rescue unit.
This is P-51B finished with the markings of “Berlin Express” (43-24823) which was flown by Lt. William B. Overstreet of 363rd FS (357 FG)
.
Cockpit floor has corrected by adding a plastic plate painted to wooden color.
The cockpit is modified by:

  • Eduard PE instrument panel
  • Ultracast B/C resin seat
  • Quickboost gunsight
    The painting was done with Gunze Sangyo acrylics.The additional replacement parts are ;
    -Ultracast P-51 B/C exhausts
    -Ultracast P-51 Mustang Hamilton Standard Cuffed 4-Blade Propeller & Spinner.
    -Ultracast P-51 wheels diamond tread
    -Ultracast P-51 corrected flaps
    Sliding canopy piece replaced by Squadron Malcolm Hood vacuform canopy
    The decals are from Superscale 48-1064 set.

  1. Tolga... You got just the right wear and tear that I try to achieve on this Mustang. I especially like the wing root wear. A nice build.

  2. Thank you Jack. I tried to reflect the weathering on the Kagero's book ( P-51B/C Mustangs over the Third Reich) which is inspired me to begin this Mustang.

  5. Beautiful Mustang. The guns look far better that the blobs that were molded in the wings on my kit- I filed 'e out, glued in some rod, drilled it out for blast tubes and added Quickboost .50 barrel tips. Did you do the same or similar?
