I'm currently a Locomotive Engineer with KiwiRail in Christchurch New Zealand, having recently completed 23 years service in the New Zealand Police where I held the rank of Sergeant. Prior to this I also served as a medic in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. I have 3 daughters, and I've been modelling since I was about 6 years old. I inherited my interest from spending time with my father in his model shed. I mainly do Armor, but will do whatever grabs my attention, as sometimes its good just to have a bit of fun.
This is the 1/35 Italeri kit of a Marine Corps Sherman with snorkles and wooden panels attached to hull. I have depicted it stuck in the sand after the tide has gone out revealing it fully wedged in the sand. I got the idea off a D-Day [...]
I haven't posted any thing on here for a while as haven't finished anything for a while. Got plenty of stuff started, but finishing has been an issue of late. So thought I'd better finish this. I'm really enjoying ICM kits at the moment as [...]
Recently declassified German Military files have revealed that after their staggering defeat on the planet of Endor, Darth Vader approved the sale of his remaining AT-ST's to the German Army in early 1944 at a heavily discounted price. A [...]
Airfix and Gecko released their 1/35 Austin Ambulance kits fairly close together. Gecko put me off right from the get-go due to its overly heavy use of PE parts (some love it, but I model to destress, not increase it haha). I think the [...]
When I saw Airfix had released the Ferret Armoured car it was a very quick decision to buy it. I'd always wanted to do a diorama featuring British troops in Northern Ireland so here was my chance. Big problem is getting 70s/80s era British [...]
This is (almost) 2 made straight from the box kits. Tamiya A34 Late war British A34 Comet and Miniart Tank riders.
As always Tamiya, this kit is a pleasure to build. Apart from 2 bags and a driver i added from my spares box this is [...]
I've always wanted to do a diorama of 2 tanks that have rammed each other and then got stuck.
I'm quite happy with how this has come out. There is quite a lot going on here, but I think it captures the frenzied panic of everyone trying to [...]
First build for the New year, this Tamiya LRDG kit.
This is the type of kit that makes modelling a pleasure. It's simple, quick and holds up well to kits even of today's standards (except maybe for the original figures, they are rubbish). [...]
This is the 3rd (and final) reincarnation of this base. The last 2 subjects on it never quite worked for me but this time I'm happy.
The Tank destroyer is a 1/35 Tamiya Marder III. The figures are Gecko Models Paratroop sets 2 and 3, and [...]
This 1/35 diorama was inspired by this old helmet given to me by my father when I was about 6 years old (41 years ago - where did that time go!?).
After it spent years helping my friends and I survive WW2 inspired battles in my back yard [...]
