I've been modeling since I was a kid, stopped and got back into it as my daughter got older. I'm mostly into WW2 aircraft. I'm a big P-40 fan, growing up and living 5 minutes away from where all the P-40s were built. I also build Hot Rods, some Armor, again from WW2, and dabble in WW2 ships.

'47 Kurtis-Kraft Midget Racer

Frank Miller and Fred Offenhauser In the early 1900s Framk Miller built some of the fastest, most beautiful and innovative open wheel race cars of all time. In 1913, Miller hired a 25 year old machinist named Fred Offenhauser who learned [...]

The original HUN HUNTER

For those P-47 fans out there, the HUN HUNTER name may ring a bell. Some of the best color film footage of P-47s in combat is from a film named "Thunderbolt" filmed in 1944 but not released until 1947, ( there were many technical [...]

The F4U-2 Night Fighter Corsair

This is my conversion of the beautiful Tamiya 1/32nd scale F4U-1 "Biracage" Corsair. Here's a little background on the dash 2, (for a better, more comprehensive history, check out Tom Cleaver's @tcinla articles here on iModeler [...]

Shangri-la

I have many hobbies, (probably too many) one of which is pinstriping and painting WW2 style nose art. Over the years, I've painted pin-ups on several flight jackets, hot rods, and numerous metal panel wall hangings for people. The first [...]

Roden 1/32nd Albatros DIII (OAW)

Hello everyone, this is my Roden Albatros DIII (OAW) in 1/32nd scale. To start, its no Wingnut Wings kit but the Roden kits can be built into a pretty nice piece. I've always been a fan of the German WW1 aircraft, and the Albatros family [...]

Airfix 1/72 H81-A2/P-40B

Here is Airfix's 1/72nd scale Flying Tigers Curtiss H81-A2 (P-40B) . I really like Airfix's newer 1/72nd scale kits. Some modelers complain about the heavy pannel lines but once the kit is premed and painted they really get toned down to a [...]

An inexpensive P-38

Not sure how many modelers have built the Hobby Boss easy assembly kit of the Lockheed P-38, but here is my take on it. As far as P-38 kits go, it really is an "easy" kit, but you do have to deal with very long seam lines that [...]

An old favorite!

This is the old Revell P-40c. It's still a great little kit after all this time and I always have at least a couple it my stash. With a little work this kit is capable of being a show stopper. I'm not a master modeler by any means, but I'm [...]

New to iModeler

Hi everyone, I just found this site a few days ago and joined. I did modeling as a kid stopped while in the service and got back into it about 10 or so years ago when the family got a little older and had I had more time. I build mostly [...]
