Building models since age 7 (except for a short respite in my military years). Enjoying it now more than ever. I build across the spectrum but am biased towards towards historical miniatures and military vehicles.
In contrast to my Plattformwagen, I had a far better experience with this stunning kit. I can't sing its praises enough. Despite being a fairly young company, this kit's quality equals if not exceeds Tamiya and Eduard kits. I'm not [...]
This model is intended to carry a Jadgpanther in rail transport mode which was inspired by Meng packaging this kit with their Jadgpanther kit, which is already in my stash. This kit is not for the faint hearted and previous experience [...]
The final installment--tractor, trailer and dozer (and a whole lot of dirt). The last step was to put the trailer to the tractor and the dozer to the trailer and tie it all together with copious amount of pastel dirt.
Completed the dozer for this awesome Takom kit. Despite the apparent complexity, the parts count was actually modest thanks to good parts engineering. The driver's compartment is well appointed for its scale but is only visible if you [...]
First completion of 2020 and a 2019 year end WIP. Another cool little Airfix kit. Everything went together like a gem. Added an Eduard color PE set. I experimented with more robust weathering using oils, pigments and pencils. Ended [...]
Not an overly productive year. But did complete some interesting projects. Partly due to trying some more complex subjects...1/48th scale P-51 vignette, twin engine a/c, and a cool soft skin. Also the result of having 4 WIPs in the [...]
The famous RAF airliner/bomber/fighter. This is another fine Airfix kit, although with some rather fiddly bits that means that this is not for the inexperienced modeler. The cockpit glazing was 3 seperate clear pieces sandwiched in and [...]
This is nice little kit. The first of three components. It has a high part count for this scale but the payoff is very good detail. This is OOB with the exception of adding cables to the wenches. I painted it with modulated AK OEF [...]
My friend Marty Sanford and I were inadvertently building Airfix Stukas in tandem (see Marty's May 19 post for his excellent finished product). I choose a nearly OOB approach, only adding seat belts made out of Tamiya tape. This is [...]
Another nice Airfix kit completed. This is a very well engineered kit that essentially fell together. The only finicky issue was that the propeller/shaft assembly wouldn't seat fully in the engine until I filed out the opening some. [...]
