Retired, Ocala Florida resident since 1978. I build 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft primarily, but delve into 1/144th. 1/72 (or close) Boats, 1/24th cars, 1/32-35th and assorted stuff, fill in the gaps, and prevent "burn-out". I'm a member of IPMS since 1983, a currently an officer in our local chapter. My current collection is over 400 on the shelf, and an equal number in my stash. I'd like to be able to share "the good, the bad, and the ugly", with my fellow modelers.

1/48 Hasegawa Dassault Breguet Falcon-10

This may be considered a "what if", or a figment of my imagination. The USCG only flew the HU-25, a bigger brother of the 10, to my knowledge. I thought the scheme attractive, but didn't care to go through the extensive [...]

THANK YOU, IMODELER !

Thanks Imodeler, for my contest prize. Just as soon as I clear a couple recent endeavors, off the bench, it will be time to start my new Eduard Weekender Hellcat F6F-3. I've heard a lot of great things about this kit, and am looking [...]

1/48 Monogram P-39 Airacobra

Here's another one we've all built, the trusted, old, Mongram P-39 airacobra. I've been led to understand that this was Monogram's first attempt at a "serious" scale model. It was my second time around with it, and I still [...]

1/72 Antares Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk

This is one of those subjects that fills a void, nothing more. By most 1/72 standards, this kit is crude. The most eye catching part is also the worse part, the canopy. This would have been a great piece to vac-u-form, as it's pretty [...]

1/72 AMT/Matchbox Hunting Percival Provost T Mk. 1

The name is longer than the model. This was an easy build, and addition to my British trainers. The last couple shots show size comparison with the DeHavilland Chipmunk. Both are dwarfed by the T-28 Trojan. of the same era.. At this [...]

1/48 Monogram F9F-2 Panther

I thought I'd try to back date the F9F-5 to the 2 version, and so, rounded the tail a little. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it looked ok to me. My collection needed a "Blue Angel", and I thought this would be a good [...]

1/48 Glencoe Spad XIIIC.1

This has to be a re-issue of a re-issue, etc. Copyright on the instructions reads "1995". The best part of the kit is the "invisa-clear" Scale-Master decals. This was another 20+ part kit that I built because it [...]

1/48 Lindberg Goose

I can never get enough seaplanes and amphibs ! As old and as crude as this kit is, it still builds up into a fair looking model. Being a lindberg, the price is right, even if the detailing is not. There's no interior to speak of, but [...]

1/48 ESCI Henschel Hs-129

This is the old 1/48 ESCI Hs-129, which still holds it's own, from a distance. Like most my others, it's OOB. It was the Eastern Front, winter scheme that caught my attention after building my first Hs-129 in standard Luftwaffe camo.

1/48 Hobbycraft P-40

Standing alone, the Hobbycraft version doesn't look bad. Sitting next to all the other P-40's on my shelf, doesn't improve the looks. The landing gear is the give away. It could stand to be raised about an 1/8th of an inch. The tail [...]
