Retired, Ocala Florida resident since 1978. I build 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft primarily, but delve into 1/144th. 1/72 (or close) Boats, 1/24th cars, 1/32-35th and assorted stuff, fill in the gaps, and prevent "burn-out". I'm a member of IPMS since 1983, a currently an officer in our local chapter. My current collection is over 400 on the shelf, and an equal number in my stash. I'd like to be able to share "the good, the bad, and the ugly", with my fellow modelers.
I don't know which version Monogram did first, the A or B, but I completed the B, before I came upon this one. The only difference I can see is the cowl and the two bladed prop. Boxing in the wheel wells took as much time as building [...]
This Academy kit has been around 15-20 years. It's still available, and is one of the less expensive F-16 kits. I had a set of Florida ANG for an F-16, which was why I got the kit. I ended up with a simple kit, simple decals, and a [...]
Back to basics. Straight out-of-box. I think this one has been around as long as the "Flying Tigers" themselves ! When I finally got around to building it, I discovered it wasn't a bad kit at all, for it's day. They're [...]
The instructions say "copyright 1979". I've had this one sitting around for quite some time. Over the years I've built at least 3 others in different variants. It was time to just do the version on the box. The build was [...]
The price was right, and I had some old decals laying around, so this old bird got thrown together. Even though it's not even up to Monogram's standards, it still looks ok for it's age. The interior leaves a lot to be desired, as do most [...]
While the others were old, this one is ancient. Some of you will remember Revell's "frameable box art" series. This was one of those. Accurate or not , how often do you get to do a Navy "Vaark", especially one with [...]
Yes, we do jets too ! An aftermarket set of decals and a lttle different.paint job, and a very basic kit, made for an interesting addition to my Harrier collection.
Another 1/48 Monogram Classic. I opted for the photo nose, making it an F-5B. OOB.
If you've noticed any of my past "selected files", you've probably answered the question you ask yourself while visiting the vendors at your local show, "who buys this kind of stuff?". Here's another one. The Airfix [...]
Another unusual looking aircraft. I got to see one at an airshow quite awhile ago. It was civilian, white, and "for sale". I was impressed with the white paint job, and had to duplicate it. Since then I've seen this aircraft [...]
