Retired, Ocala Florida resident since 1978. I build 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft primarily, but delve into 1/144th. 1/72 (or close) Boats, 1/24th cars, 1/32-35th and assorted stuff, fill in the gaps, and prevent "burn-out". I'm a member of IPMS since 1983, a currently an officer in our local chapter. My current collection is over 400 on the shelf, and an equal number in my stash. I'd like to be able to share "the good, the bad, and the ugly", with my fellow modelers.

1/72 Heller Mirage

This was another club project, to be done anyway we wanted. I went to Airliners.net and went through Mirages for something that would be fun, Here you go...

1/72 Hasegawa Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull

This was a simple, little kit, that comes complete with a stand. It's a colorful addition, and looks nice next to the Airfix Duck, The SOC-3 served aboard battleships and cruisers, and was catapult launched. The wings folded back for [...]

Airfix HMS Prince

This was my wife, Carol's, first model. I asked if she'd be interested in building anything, and she asked if they made sailing ships. She thought they looked neat. I was at a contest with my buddies, when I came across this model of [...]

1/72 Airfix P-38 Lightning

I decided to raid the stash one day, and came up with this old Airfix kit. While it shows it's age, it's still a fun build, and looks ok when finished. I opted for a small "base" rather than mess with weight in that tiny nose. [...]

1/48 Monogram T-6 (SNJ)

I think this 1/48 effort by Monogram was one of their best. It's always been a fun build, no matter how many I've done. I believe I picked this up as a $1.00 bag kit, and thought I'd play with it. While the paint scheme is purely [...]

1/72 Academy PBY 5A "Black Cat"

Who doesn't like seaplanes and amphibs? Academy makes a nice looking series of PBY's. I had seen the weathered "Black Cat" version, and just had to give it a try. This is one I really feel looks better in person, than the [...]

1/72 Heller Saab J-21`

As most Heller kits, this one is delicate with fine molded parts. Being an OV-10 fan, I've always liked the twin boom configuration., and found this interesting. The aircraft is larger than one may expect, and is one of the few that was [...]

1/48 Lindberg JN-4D Jenny

Time for another walk down memory lane, the Lindberg Jenny. My inspiration for this scheme was the Jenny at the Old Reinbeck Airdrome, in upstate New York. I could find no proof of the US Navy ever usung this scheme, and the tail [...]

1/35 Revell Offshore Power Boat

This model has been around for a long time. It hasn't lost it's appeal, and still looks like it's going 100 mph standing still. I wanted mine to be a little different. I remembered a boat I'd seen, being loaded up one morning, in [...]

Hobbycraft 1/48 P-59 Airacomet

Hobbycraft has produced the only 1/48 kit of this historic aircraft, that I'm aware of. It's a nice, simple, basic kit, which I found a little pricey, considering what was included, which was not much. Still, I felt the P-59 was a [...]
