I started modeling again after a 35+ year hiatus. Got my stash of kits out of the attic and went to work. Mostly 1/48 and 1/72 WWII fighters plus some modern jets.
I flew fighters in the Air Force (F-111 and A-10) for twenty years and then flew for American Airlines for twenty-two years (Boeing 727/757/767 and Fokker F-100). Now I'm retired and living in the DFW area.
Trumpeter 1/48 F-100D, S/N 63-000, Triple Zilch. This is one of the most iconic color schemes for the Super Sabre, and I know I won’t be the last to attempt it. This jet was the personal mount of USAF Col. Raymond F. Toliver, Commander [...]
Hasegawa F-22 Egg Plane. I built this little gem for my five year old grandson, Reader. He’s getting ready to welcome a new little brother into the world and I didn’t want him to feel left out in the hustle and bustle of all the [...]

Here is my recent build of Italeri’s 1/9 scale 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA motorcycle. My oldest son gave me the kit for Christmas two years ago but I waited a while before attempting the build. After doing my P-26 and Fw 190 D-9, I felt I [...]
Fw 190D-9 flown by Oblt. Klaus Faber as part of the base defense flight of JV44 at Ainring Airfield, Germany in May 1945. They have been referred to as the "Papagaistaffel”(parrot flight), but this name for them was not used until [...]
WIP: Eduard 1/48 Fw 190D-9, Klaus Faber’s “Rot 13”, JV44 Platzshutzstaffel. Using EagleCals#14 for markings but decided to paint the stripes instead of using the provided white stripe decals. Red tends to bleed through white decals [...]
Well, sports fans. I’ve finally finished my 1/48 Hobby Craft Boeing P-26 Peashooter. I built it as gift for my wife Kathy and jokingly call it the “Fabergé Easter Egg of Fighter Planes. The late 1930’s and the run up to WWII truly [...]
Work in progress: The Faberge´ "Easter Egg" of Fighter Planes...a gift for my wife. Hobby Craft kit, Yellow Wings decals, Starfighter and Eduard rigging and PE. Paint by Vallejo Air. Kit build and painting went nicely. Decals [...]
