Back in the 60's and early 70's it wasn't uncommon to drive through rural airports and come across an ex-Military aircraft on the tarmack. After WWII you could buy one. And many were bought and flown to airports all over the country.

I built this a few years ago, it's still one of my favourites.
This is the old Revell kit, from 1990. I built it several years ago, and recently got around to photographing her at the airport. I did use an aftermarket decal set, the SuperScaleInternational set 48-346. It's pretty much built OOB, [...]
This is my most recent completion: the little Revell Voodoo in 1/72 scale finished in the colors of 444FIS.
The kit is very nice even straight out of the box, but I ended up adding additional detail to several places. Firstly, wanted to [...]
Since the Spitfire XIV was such a success, here come some more 1/32 Griffon Spitfires.
First up, the Revell Spitfire 24. Out of the box, this kit lacks all sorts of things: accurate cowling, accurate prop, acurate canopy, accurate [...]

The colours are RLM 79/80 over RLM 65 as the plane was an [...]
This is the older Revell Bf109G-10 kit, also done in Italian RSI markings.
It's a very straightforwards kit, with basic detail (no slats and flaps to play with!) and apart from a too-small Prop diameter, a fairly accurate rendition of the [...]
My recently finished Revell 737 with Braz winglets. Nice kit, but needs adjustments. This is my first airliner, and I think it came out quite well!
I used cheap rattle can for the white parts, and Revell 31 for the nose.
Enjoy, and feel [...]
