A nice and easy to build model. The highlight of the model is the engine exhaust area with the colorful burnt metal patterns. No fancy metallizers there, just a touch of diluted colors over darkened silver paint.
After over 30 years, I finally have a good 1/700 HMS Hood. The ship has always been one of my favorites, and I've held a spot at the top of the display case for her for a long time.
I had (and still have) the 1/600 Airfix and 1/400 [...]
Allison, a Division of General Motors, began developing the ethylene glycol-cooled V-1710 in 1929, in order to meet a USAAC need for a modern 1,000 hp (750 kW) engine to fit into a new generation of streamlined bombers and fighters. The [...]

Quick and fun build, fun [...]
From the beginning of carrier aviation, the torpedo had been seen as the best weapon for aircraft to use against warships, given the light explosive weight and inaccurate aiming of aerial bombs. Due to the technology of the torpedo itself [...]
I recently completed Trumpeter's F9F-3 Panther for a Korean War group build. The kit was built out of the box. No add on accessories. The fit was not too bad. There were a couple seams that needed addressed. Just another day at the bench, [...]
Whew! This is a hell of a project, one that can drive you nuts, especially if the kit is sub par.
The way I am tackling it is by doing each section completely for one aircraft and I figure out any issues during assembly of that step. Once [...]
