Paulo - this is just a beautiful effort at 1/72 scale! Love the way you've dirtied up the NMF, and overall finish is just superb. Simply excellent work!
Thanks Greg
This kit was fun to build and these new Airfix are just almost as good as the Tamiya (but way cheaper). If only they had better scaled panel lines it would be perfect.
Cheers
Nicely done and presented, sir...I like it. And as Greg mentioned, even more impressive at that scale.
Thanks Craig
I forgot to mention that I've used only Tamiya acrylics (no Alclad here!)
Hey - looked at your WIP link - some great tips - especially using teflon plumbers tape for masking BMF! Nice - thanks!
Teflon tape is very useful to mask delicate painting and also when you need some curves (spinner, fuselage bands etc)
What a great idea!
Another good masking tape is Drafting Tape. It's very low-tack, but sticks to the surface sufficient to do the job, without ever pulling up paint. I've used it for 20 years now.
Very nice, Paulo. Great looking finishes.
Thanks Rob
Paulo - awesome work in 1/72! Love it!
Thanks Steve
Nice work. That little Airfix Mustang is a real jewel. One thing - when Landers had this airplane, it didn't have the checkerboard wingtips, that was his postwar replacement did that. Not a complaint, lots of Very Serious People Indeed have managed not to notice that for a long time, I discovered when I wrote my 78th FG book.
Thanks Tom. That's a bummer! I checked some photos to confirm it but I didn't know they were post war photos.
Sad!
Great to see the new Airfix kits being finished and displayed so well.
Thank you mate
