1/48 Airfix Seafire F.XVII
Have been working on this kit off and on for the past year. Airfix has really upped its game recently. Only thing I think they could improve on this kit would be the main landing gear. The wing attachment points strike me as a little weak. That said I totally enjoyed this kit and am glad to finally have a Seafire in the Royal Navy collection.Markings are for a/c serial# SX156, 767 Sq., Deck Landing Control Officer Training Unit, RNAS , Yeovilton, 1950. Aero master and kit decals, Tamiya and Mr Color paint.

“Weak points” aside, it certainly turned out looking great….well worth the wait I’d say. Nice job, sir!

Thanks. Usually have to walk away several times to calm down when I have issues building a kit. Didn’t have to do that with this kit.

Yeah….I’ve walked away from a build before – but sometimes the KIT doesn’t “walk away” (if ya know what I mean). 🙂

I have never trashed a kit. But I have come close a few times……….

Dale, Very well done. Your finish looks excellent, I like it alot !. As for me, I have trashed a couple kits. Sometimes the model gods just aren’t with you !

Thanks Terry! I really like the new Airfix Griffon powered Spitfire kits. May have to get the Mk XII.

Those Naval colour schemes are great and really suit the Seafire, you’ve done a great job with this one.

Nicely done! I need a 1/72 version of this – don’t have a Seafire in the stash…

Thanks Greg! There is a 1/72 kit available, made by Sword.
