iModeler July Awards
I hope you'd agree that with the outpour of new model presentations that we enjoy these days, iModeler remains a premium source of modeling inspiration. Let's hold on to that feeling by looking back at some of the notable additions in July, the month that brought 73 new articles and 932 comments.
As usual, every posted article is automatically included in our monthly prize draw. We are awarding the iModeler Best in Show title by the decision of the editorial jury, but also allot a Random Award to show our appreciation to all kinds of modeling. The judging committee this time was @editor, @magnusf, @halvarvonflake, @rickard-malmborg and @aisak.
iModeler Best in Show - July 2016
Among the many excellent contributions in July, the Best in Show title goes to Robert Aspinall's Tamiya 32nd Zero.
The jury noted with some regret that Robert's presentation brings us only one overall view of the finished model, but this and everything else we see in close-ups and the various construction phases is really top-notch. And while completing a standard kit according to the instructions may be considered low-key by some, we think it's the result that counts, and in this case we love it! Everything in the model is finished confidently to a high standard, not overstated but just enough to be convincing. The thoughtful care that went into the build is epitomized by the "cosmetic surgery" undertagen by Robert to enhance the pilot's figure.

But wait, there is more! – the Random Award
We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, this distinction goes to John Healy's pair of old 1/72 F-8s from Fujimi & Esci. We do appreciate all builds old and new, so please continue bringing them to iModeler!
