A Nice Pair of Juuu… Thunderbolts.

November 30, 2016 · in Aviation · · 11 · 1.7K

I've read a number of good reviews of the kits and at a recent contest I ran across a good deal at a vendor table so I decided to give one a try. In the box you get two complete kits with three marking options.

The build was pretty straight forward. Parts fit was excellent. Detail, for the scale, is good. The decals for the anti-glare panels, invasion strips and checkerboard cowel fit well and help cut down on painting. My only complaint is that the supercharger exhausts are a little deep making the fitting of the side decals a bit fiddly.

Even though the box says 2 kits in a box, I'm going to count these as one kit. That makes number eleven for the year. One more to hit my goal for the year!

  1. I'll say it- A nice pair of Juggs. Great in such a small scale.

  2. WOW ! They pack a lot of detail in a 1/144 size...
Major Eagleston's yellow nosed 47 is one of my favorite all time markings on a Jug. I have a set of decals with the Major's plane for my Tamiya 1/48 bubble top. One day...
Thanks for posting. They look great.

  3. Wow...upon first glance at the headline pic, I figured they were 48th scale. They look really nice for 1/144th..! And your NMF came out great as well.

  4. These are really cool! Thank you...and I agree with Craig; they don't look like 1/144. Good work.

  5. Remarkable detail here, Scott. Very nice presentation.

  6. Looks fantastic, my first thought 1:72 until i read the text.

  7. This is beyond state of the art for 1/144 scale! I'd count it as 2 completed kits... 🙂

  8. Great work Scott. I agree with comments above. The quality, especially with your painting, is great, and even more impressive at this scale.

  9. Very nice! Wonderful for 1/144

  10. Really nice! Little jewels.

  11. Thank you everyone for all the kind comments.
