1/48 Tamiya Mosquito

June 2, 2018 · in Aviation · · 12 · 2.6K

Hi All,

The is my favorite aircraft and I would love to be able to get behind the stick some day. I won't be able to add much to all the things said about this kit other than it was a pleasure to build, very smooth. I used Cutting Edge #CED48122 decals depicting the markings of 1Lt. James Lou Luma's, "Moonbeam McSwine". Hope you like. Keep on modeling!

  5. It is a superb kit, isn't it. I know it isn't likely to happen, but would be great to see all the Tamiya Mozzies here at iM together one day.

    Nice clean build, Gary.

  6. Hi Gary @gwskat Your Mosquito is a beaut! That first photo is one of the best angles to get her at - looks fantastic. In terms of getting all the Tamiyas together, Ian, here's my 1/32 Mossie that I posted some time ago here.

  7. Nicely done Gary, like you one of my favorite A/C . It just looks good to the eye.

  9. This is such a beauty of a machine and you've done it great service, Gary.

    Bravo!

  10. Having had real issues with my latest Dragon Rapide aircraft kit made by Heller God knows how long ago, I have decided to abandon it for the time being and buy myself the Tamiya 1:48 Mosquito kit. Not sure I can achieve as good a build as Gary's above, but having been up this weekend to see the real thing at East Kirkby in Lincolnshire last weekend where they have just manged to get the port engine running (see the links on their web site).

By the way does anyone know of a better DH Dragon Rapide kit than the one I got on e bay?
