Ferrari V12
Hi folks!
This is the 6.3l V12 engine from the Tamiya LaFerrari. It generates a whopping 800 bhp and is combined with an electric motor, giving the car a total of 950 bhp. Not bad for a road car…
It’s the first time I’ve posted an article of an unfinished build, but thought that it probably deserves one before being lowered into the back of the car. The kit is really impressive and the sheer complexity of the engine alone almost makes it a ‘model within a model’.
I’ve dry built most of this for now as the air box is added over the top of the rear frame inside the bay. Those of you with a keen eye may spot some bits of blue tack holding it together for now!
It is in 1/24 scale and measures 8cm in length. I was going to add a match to the photos for scale but forgot! That’s my excuse anyway and I’m sticking to it! For more info on the build feel free to have a look at the WIP over in groups.
Thanks for looking. Cheers!

Ferrari has always made art within the engine compartment and you nailed it in 1:24 scale. Looking forward to the full build.

I can’t say I’m technically-minded enough to appreciate the ramifications of the unit, but it certainly looks the part.

Cheers Rob. I’ll leave the technical stuff to the experts. I’m just happy enough reproducing it in miniature…
