Kawasaki Ki61/Hien (Tony)
My first attempt in metallic finishes, many lessons learned, many more yet to learn.
Didn’t use rondel decals, line decals etc… I’ve made them by masks I’ve previously made.
Excellent fit and details.
Every comment is welcomed 🙂
Cheers 🙂

Very nice! One of my 2 favorite Japanese fighters (Raiden is the other). Turned out looking great!

Djordje, your Tony looks very nice, and the painting is spotless. I have however 2 questions that intrigue me:
– why don’t the Hinonarus overlap the lower side surface of the ailerons?
– did the actual plane had that stained look on the underside right after the central radiator? I don’t recall seeing any wartime photo on the underside of a Tony, hence my question. Thanks and welcome to iModeler, looking forward to see your future projects

Thank You very much !
I’ve been trying to find pictures of real Tony from WWII and I had no luck, only one picture shows underside and it looked oily and stained after radiator so I tried to achieve that look 🙂

Djordje, welcome to iModeler! Your Tony looks great. It looks like you’ve done metallic finishes for quite some time, not the first time.
