Big 1/48 Israeli F-15i from GWH kit
Hi all,
This one was my first try at an F-15 and my first GWH kit – I can heartily recommend both 🙂
The kit comes with a LOT of plastic and is quite intimidating but the fit is fantastic and I personally love the eyecatching Israeli Air Force three tone scheme compared to the dull Compass Greys on most F-15s.
Full build video here:
Cheers!

Another beautiful build! Great Eagle, Justin. You’re right, the camo pattern is more interesting than the “dull, compass grays.”

Thanks Jeff! Yes it’s hard to make Compass Greys look anything other than dull without totally overdoing the weathering especially with such a big upper surface as the Eagle…

Excellent Eagle Justin, ever since the Revell F-15E kit came out over 20 years ago now (really!) this kit, the Isreali version of the “E” with their own avionics make this quite capable for their environment. The scheme gets away from the Gunship Grey that these appear in US service. This is the first one in detail I have seen built. Great Wall really have stepped up with some nice kits, lots of parts but not so intense like Trumpeter and Kitty Hawk can be. Still your skills and patience shows. Very well done. Despite the experience we have popping the box will at times can take our breath away on these hi tech jets. And all those bits and pieces, open doors, complete engines. And whats nice tons of ordnance. See now you talked me into picking one of these up. Thanks for sharing a magnificent Isreali F-15. Nice touch with the video.

Haha, thanks Chuck I’m glad you found it interesting! I’d recommend the kit to anyone not put off by very high part counts. I look forward to seeing what you do with it if you do indeed pick one up!

Another flawless paint job. Very nice work. Yes, it does look better than “boring grey.”

Love the Israeli colours (some natural prejudice here) as they are just such a beautiful match for modern jets. Never easy with three camouflage colours; well done.

Fabulous F-15! Really nice video and love the music. It came out really nice, demonstrating lots of modeling skills. Love the F-15 and it was nice to see GWH version b/c very interested in building one myself. I just finished an 1/48 F-15A for someone and used the vintage Tamiya kit. It needed a lot of work to get a better model out if it. It seems with this F-15 GWH provides everything.
