Europe, 1939/40. Vintage JU-87 B – Stuka, Airfix 1/72
This article is part of a series:
Hi all,
This is a 1973/6 rebox Airfix kit (altough the box is from the 70's, acording to ScaleMates the tool is from 1957) which I had started back in 1980's and putted aside due to its lack of detail for the past 30 years.
The kit had 25(!) pieces... Theres no cockpit, just a black whole 🙂 and so on...
I started doing some alterations but, as the kit was already assembled and to 'respect' its age, I decided to build it just at it was and assume that this is a very vintage old kit.
The decals were completely ruined so I had to print a new ones at home.
The antena wire is from Mig Jimenez Rigging (0,02mm).
I wanted to represent a B Stuka, from the early days of the war, thus it is not weathered, and just slightly dirty.
What a diference between these and new kits...
I'm sorry for the photos quality (they are at the same level as the model, lol)
Cheers,
Manuel
I remember building this kit back in the early 1970's - well done for perservering with it Manuel!
Turned out pretty well considering its' age...nice work, sir.
Great job on this old, OLD kit , they deserve to be built.
N.
Something to be said for the simplicity of these old kits and the joy of building them. Very nice!
Thank you all for your kind words.
Yes, there's something about building these old kits (maybe youth nostalgia, eheheh).
I still have a pile of them, but in a near future I'll buy a brand new release to try other 'flavoures'
🙂
Nice job sir.
Looks great, I love seeing the old kits built ! I did one way back from a UPC boxing, might have been an Airfix or Frog originally.
