264 Squadron Boulton-Paul Defiant in 1/48 (Battle of Britain day scheme)

April 24, 2019 · in Aviation · · 20 · 2.3K

Hi all,

This is my lash up of the relatively new tool quarter scale .
Tried a heavy post-shade then comprehensive highlighting coat technique with freehand camo.
All feedback welcome as ever! 🙂

  1. Nice build and presentation, Justin...I like it. 🙂

  2. Good looking builds!

  3. Great bird. I had no idea these existed so I appreciate being introduced to it through your post.

  4. Nice work on all three of those models. Excellent paint work.

One very minor point (which has only become known very recently with some new research associated with the release of the new Tamiya Spitfire) is that the IFF antennas (and transponder) didn't start to show up till mid November, after the BoB (You coulda fooled me till the info was published in the new Fundekals Spitfire sheet).

  5. Looks very nice, lovely finish.

  6. Great work Justin!

  7. Very nice job with the camo. I cheated and used AML masks on mine

  8. Very nice Defiant. The paint job looks great!

  9. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Very nice work on that Defiant Justin, very clean and sharp. The painting is well applied.
