1/48 Classic Airframes Brewster 239

June 21, 2019 · in Aviation · · 27 · 2.1K

This aircraft was piloted by ltm. Ilmari Juutilainen 3/Lentolaivue 24, Suualajarvi airfield November 1942. Juutilainen was the top scoring Finnish ace with 94 victories, 28 while flying B-239's. Aftermarket parts include a Vector engine and Eduard seatbelts. Paints are the Lifecolor set for WWII Finnish aircraft. These paints were produced in conjunction with the Finnish Air Force museum and are very accurate. If you're into acrylic paints I highly recommend them.

  6. Well done! I have to look for the Lifecolor set for some future projects - looking good Dale. I like the antenna with its insulators and spring. What is your preferred method for making these insulators?

  11. I just noticed this article ... it somehow slipped under the radar. Your Buffalo is a fantastic looking build, up to your usual high standards. I have a similar version of this kit in the stash. It's the US Navy F2A-1 version with marking from the Saratoga.

How did it build ? Any tips or tricks, or things to watch out for ? These Brewster's are cool little planes .

    Well done, and "liked".

  14. Beautifully done, I love the finish. My favorite scheme for the Buffalo.
