Zvezda La-5 1/48th progress so far!
Here is my current project's process. It is the 2010 kit of Zvezda's La-5. The kit is really high quality with regards to the fit and the detail of the parts. I have had lots of fun detailing the kit so far and I am sure I will have lots of fun with the rest of the build. I didn't intend on making a highly detailed engine but I rather just worked towards getting a detailed and interesting engine compartment. I would like to hear any feedback or critisism which you may have for me!

I hope you plan to leave the engine ‘back end’ visible. It’s far too good to panel up.
If you've done all that work, don't put the engine cowling or the gun covers on, or you won't see a bloody thing. You've got a good start on what could be an interesting diorama of an La-5 being worked on in the field.
Very nice work on this kit, I've done a couple of these and you are really doing some very nice stuff here.
Looking really good Matthew. I just hope you don't cover up all that excellent work on the engine. I've done one pretty much OOB & had no problems, but I cheerfully admit I'm not as adventurous as you. Keep us posted please!
