Swiss De Havilland Vampire T-11 – Airfix, 1/72
This is a build I've completed some time ago, but was missing here.
It was a very simple, yet fun, build a friend of mine asked me to do for him. Actualy, he gave me the kit already built, only for painting.
It's the Airfix one, in 1/72, built out of the box except for some home-made decals and seat belts. Based on some photos, did some riveting to enhance panels and give her 'life' as this scheme could became quite dull.
Painted with Alclad, custom made orange from Mr Colors, and some oils on the panelines. Sealed with Alclad gloss varnish.
My friend used to see these bird from his grandparents home in Switzerland and became very happy with this kit.
Cheers,
Manuel
Beautiful rendition, sir...I like it.
Thks Craig, You're very kind!
A real beauty!
Thks! She's quite different and marks a time in history. Do you know that De Havilland built her nose in wood?
Very interesting, Manuel! Great Vampire, Sir!
Thks Jeff
Very nice, Manuel, especially in natural metal (nose excepted) and the Swiss colours. Even more impressive that she’s in 72nd scale. Funny thing, painting someone else’s model, a bit like...no, let’s not go there.
I like seeing these older builds,

Thks David! Regarding the painting, it's not the first model that I do/paint for my friend but there's a reason: he is having problems with his eyes... and that's what friends are for...
Great job! nice scheme.
Thks! It's quite simple but efective.
It was fun 🙂
Fantastic work Manuel. In 1/72 scale really small aircraft but it looks lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Thks Ferry! My pleasure
