FM-1 Wildcat HobbyBoss 1/48
Hello Everyone!
This is my second completed kit of the year of many more to come.
I knew that the hobbyboss is quite a good kit, I found it at a really good price in a hobbyshop and I couldn’t resist. I detailed the cockpit with some copper wires but the canopy can’t be displayed open in the hobbyboss kit so I had to glue it closed, sadly most of the work I did in the cockpit can’t be seen.
I think I went a bit too heavy with the chipping over the wings, but overall I think it looks fine.

She’s a well worn Wildcat for sure. Nicely done.

Not at all, the wear and tear might be heavy but it’s consistent in all areas of the plane, so what’s not to like? I think you’ve achieved a splendid model with this one Rene

I’m glad to hear that, thank you!

Rene, I agree with the others … you’ve done a great job. I love the 3-tone Navy planes!

3 tone navy planes looks really cool, I the kit I had the option to paint a gray over white camo, but it doesn’t look as… “Interesting” as the 3color scheme for my taste.

Very nicely done Wildcat with quite interesting markings. The red surround insignia really stands out on that tri-color paint scheme.

Excellent!!! Have same kit and plan to do the Atlantic Scheme on mine.

Thank you! It’s a nice scheme, not very common.
Take special care when gluing the fuselage halves to have everything correctly aligned, there’s a lack of location pins, the rest of the kit falls together really nice, good luck with your WildKitty, Darren 😉
