Fw 189A2 Finished At Last
I posted a week ago that I was close to finishing, The words of encouragement were much appreciated. I got the fiddly bits put on, I used the photoetch gunsights supplied with the kit. They were easier than I thought, but I really do struggle with that stuff. Still, all in all after a five year hiatus happy to finish a kit and I even took it to a local contest where if finished second to a beautiful Tamiya P-38. Thanks for looking at what really is a redundant post.
Great build.
Nice job and congratulations on the competition success!
Impressive. Bravo!
Great result with what I know first-hand isn't an easy kit, Walt.
Thanks Tom, I found aspects of the kit weren't too bad, but the directions were really bad. I also didn't like some of the selections for photo etch detail. It is definitely not an Easy kit but I just liked the plane itself too much NOT to build it.
That's a lovely build! Well done.
Nice looking machine. I don't envy you doing all that glass work
Thanks, the kit comes with masks, that work very well on the flat panels, but Tamiya tape was needed on the curved. One thing though both the masks and the Tamiya tape came off of the "glass" without any issues. I am telling you they were on for YEARS! I was truly pleased and surprised.

Great looking build Walt, very subtle on the chipping but yet very convincing, very nice modeling.
Great build of an off-beat aircraft!
Love this. looks like a flying glass house. Very nice job!
